Travel

Born in Regensburg, Germany, and raised in Bach an der Donau until
the age of four before moving to the United States. I hold UK
citizenship alongside my German origins, and travel has been a
constant throughout my life since.

Of everywhere I've been, Randers, Denmark remains my favorite.
There's a quality to it that's hard to put into words, quieter and
more grounding than most places I've visited, and I find myself
thinking back to it more than almost anywhere else.

Beyond Denmark, I've spent time across a wide stretch of Europe and
beyond. In Armenia, I visited Garni Temple, Geghard Monastery, the
Cascade Complex, and Khor Virap. Austria brought me to Schönbrunn
Palace, St. Stephen's Cathedral, the Hallstatt waterfront, and Hofburg
Palace. In Belgium, I saw the Grand Place, the Atomium, Manneken Pis,
and the Belfry of Bruges.

Bosnia and Herzegovina left a strong impression, particularly Stari
Most in Mostar, Sarajevo's Baščaršija, Kravica Waterfall, and the
Latin Bridge. In Canada, I visited the CN Tower, Niagara Falls,
Parliament Hill, and Banff National Park. Denmark beyond Randers
included the Little Mermaid Statue, Nyhavn, Tivoli Gardens, and
Kronborg Castle.

France took me to the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, the Palace of
Versailles, and Notre-Dame Cathedral. In Greece, I stood at the
Acropolis and the Parthenon, walked through the Meteora Monasteries,
and watched the sunset over the Santorini Caldera. Italy's Colosseum,
the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Florence Cathedral, and the canals of
Venice were all part of that trip.

Luxembourg offered the Grand Ducal Palace, the Bock Casemates, its own
Notre-Dame Cathedral, and the Adolphe Bridge. In Mexico, I explored
Chichen Itza, Teotihuacan, Chapultepec Castle, and the ruins at Tulum.
The Netherlands gave me the Van Gogh Museum, the Rijksmuseum, the
windmills of Zaanse Schans, and the Anne Frank House.

Poland connected me to Wawel Royal Castle, Kraków's Main Market
Square, the Wieliczka Salt Mine, and the Palace of Culture and
Science. Spain brought the Sagrada Família, the Alhambra, the Royal
Palace of Madrid, and Park Güell. Sweden included the Vasa Museum,
Gamla Stan, Drottningholm Palace, and the Turning Torso.

In the UAE, I saw the Burj Khalifa, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the
Burj Al Arab, and Palm Jumeirah.
